Kidero courting Namwamba as 2017 polls running mate

Namwamba to deputise Kidero?
Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero has welcomed calls by a section of leaders to woo Budalangi Member of Parliament and ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba as his running mate for Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2017 General Elections.
Speaking in Bunyala, Busia County on Sunday during a funds drive in aid of Lunyofu Catholic church,  Kidero backed a proposal by Nairobi county chaplain Rev. Cornelius Simiyu saying that Nairobi will be CORD’s strongest point in the next polls.
Kidero added that Mr. Namwamba is a respectful leader with the ability to unite the party and secure a landslide victory for the party in the 2017 polls.
The city Governor pointed out that apart from the Governor’s seat, CORD has also positioned itself to emerge victorious in the Senate and Women Representative positions which were won by Jubilee in the 2013 polls.
He further expressed optimism that CORD will capture at least 14 of the 17 parliamentary seats and 60 out of the 85 wards seats in Nairobi County.
Namwamba, however, evaded responding to the question on whether he will be Kidero’s running mate in the 2017 polls but said their relationship will continue to blossom.
Mr. Namwamba said ODM and CORD will support all Governors who were elected on the coalition’s ticket and warned those who are frustrating Kidero’s efforts of running Nairobi that they are doomed to fail.
The legislator denied the existence of any division in ODM and urged  all people who left the party in one way or the other to return home.
The two leaders later received four UDF officials from Bungoma who defected to ODM.
