DALLAS, TX - APRIL 24: Amar'e Stoudemire #1 of the Dallas Mavericks and Dwight Howard #12 of the Houston Rockets

Dwyane Wade has finalized his deal to stay in Miami, and Amare Stoudemire is joining the Heat.
Wade signed his $20 million, one-year contract Friday to stay with the Heat, that deal getting closed around the same time Stoudemire completed a physical and an interview before signing a one-year deal for around $1.4 million.
Wade is coming off a season where he averaged 21.5 points and was an All-Star for the 11th time. He's been a part of all three of Miami's title seasons, and Heat President Pat Riley in a statement released Friday says Wade ''will lead us as we look to win another NBA championship.''
Wade's signing was expected after he committed last week. Stoudemire being added was more of a surprise, especially when considering that the Heat didn't have oodles of extra money to spend.
But when Stoudemire made clear that he wasn't looking for a big-money deal, things fell into place for him and the Heat. Stoudemire also is very familiar with Miami, having a home there for some time.

Stoudemire is a six-time All-Star. Riley says he ''is going to bring gravitas, leadership and a hardworking mentality to our team.''
