Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said he has no apologies to make for telling Gatundu youth to use pangas to chop anyone opposed to the NYS projects.
Speaking to Citizen TV Tuesday Kuria said he is justified in telling the youth to take up arms against anyone questioning the recruitment criteria of the institution.
He added that while his remarks were “taken out of context” he will not apologise if other people are allowed to damage NYS projects.
“If I’m going to make any other comment and it’s taken out of context by people, and other people are burning actual development that is being done by the NYS, I have no regrets whatsoever. No regrets,” Kuria said.
The unapologetic Kuria caused furor on social media Tuesday when a video of him saying machetes he gave youths in Gatundu was meant to guard NYS projects from opposition.
He said he was justified in the remarks because NYS projects were under threat.
Last Tuesday he said sections of Kibera and Nyanza are allergic to developments.
This was in relation to the burnt clinic and public toilet in Kibera which were constructed by the NYS.
He also referred to an incident in Migori last year where youths pelted a podium on which President Uhuru Kenyatta was on with shoes.
“What is worse? What happened in Kibera, or what I am alleged to have said?” Kuria posed.
Kuria added that he would not apologise because members of the opposition were undermining the government and they were unchecked.
“The other day, on Saturday the former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka talked very ill about the NYS talking about how State House is showing public affection to a Cabinet Secretary. Now what is that? And you want us to keep quiet about those things?” Kuria posed.
He added; “Long gone are the days when these people used to do what they want to do and nobody answers them back.”
