UDF Leader Musalia Mudavadi was forced to cancel an invitation to lead a burial fundraiser for the pilot of an aircraft that crashed in Embakasi recently. We are told that Mudavadi was set for the event but was forced to abandon it when he learned that Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale was also in attendance. Mudavadi is said to have told close aides that he did not wish to share a podium with Khalwale, who he said has a knack for embarrassing his opponents. The fundraiser went on well though, with Mudavadi sending his aide with Sh20,000 as his personal donation.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission is zeroing in on a woman MP known for her extortion tendencies. According to the anti-graft agency, the MP who is a member of an important House committee, has a penchant of soliciting money from would be witnesses in exchange of smooth-ride. Corridors has it that her colleagues decided to alert the anti-graft body after she refused to share the loot from her recent exploits.

The proposal by Cord to collect a million signatures to trigger a referendum has clattered the Jubilee brigade that is now planning a crisis meeting to counter Cord’s plan. A Jubilee insider recently told Corridors that the campaign has scared Jubilee MPs because they believe Cord leader Raila Odinga could be planning to reintroduce the position of Prime Minister. Already, the former PM is scheduled to fly to Germany for a three-week tour but Jubilee believes that by the time he comes back, the referendum call will have gained momentum.

A senator known for his antics was recently overheard boasting at a political rally that one of his rings is so expensive that it is enough to tarmac several roads in his constituencies. But his voters were left asking in low tones whether it was so important for the Mheshimiwa to floss around with several blings when their roads are in pathetic condition. They are now plotting to either recall or vote him out in the coming elections.
