PHOTOS:MAYORAL PROCESSION FOR FIRST KENYAN MAYOR IN LONDON

Elizabeth kangetheIt was a sunny and colourful day on Sunday 8th June 2014 when Kenyans and invited guests gathered at Barking Town Hall, London to escort the New Mayor Elizabeth Kangethe to St. Margaret Church of England for the official admission into the church.
The procession was lead by a Band, Council Askaris, Scouts and  former army pensioners. Kenyans lead by the Kenya High Commissioner in the UK HE Ephraim Ngare and his wife Mrs. Jane Ngare turned up in large numbers for the one mile procession from Town Hall to the Church.
All the roads in the area were closed by police to allow the procession to take place without interruption. After the service, the procession took the same route back to the town hall.

Kenya High Commissioner in the UK HE Epraim Ngare and his wife  also joined the procession.
