In a statement issued by the  Teachers Service Commission  executive officer Gabriel Lengoi Boni, unemployed trained teachers have been requested to register with the TSC Staffing Officers at the County and Sub - County level in districts to be considered for employment.
The unemployed teachers are to replace striking teachers who have failed to comply to an order by the Industrial Court on July 1 directing them to resume work and a similar order issued by the government yesterday.
The Education Secretary Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi yesterday told teachers who are currently on a four week strike to go back to classes by today or face disciplinary actions. He said teachers who do not comply with the directive risk losing their jobs.

While post primary teacher applicants should be holders of a Diploma in Teacher Education or Diploma in Technical Education and have at least two teaching subjects relevant to the curriculum. Mr Boni said the unemployed teachers should apply for the positions by Friday this week. week.
