By STEPHEN MAKABILA
NAIROBI, KENYA: ODM plans to hold a National Governing Council ( NGC) meeting next month as part of efforts to re-organise and revamp the party.
ODM Communications Director Philip Etale said the party was currently on transitione as it looks to revamp. “The party has convened a National Governing Council meeting early next month to make a decision on the new Executive Director, who will be announced after the vetting process by a panel of ODM youthful MPs led by Butere legislator Andrew Toboso,” said Mr Etale in a statement.
The appointment of an executive director to replace nominated Senator Janet Ong’era has generated a lot of heat in the party ranks.
The Toboso-led panel is vetting about 40 people who applied for the position including six Members of Parliament. Etale said the NGC will also discuss plans to fill vacant positions in the national office.
