An MP from Nyanza is now coming to terms with the phrase "choices have consequences". We are told people who wanted to keep the man out of the budget passing stage connived to dangle a carrot before the firebrand second-time MP. The carrot dangled was a two-week trip to a European capital. It is not clear whether the man has come to his senses and figured out that he was tricked.

Several senior officials are canvassing for the MD position at the Kenya Film Commission after the expiry of the term of the current boss early this month. One senior official who is seeking the post has been camping at the Cabinet Secretary’s office at KenCom House on a daily basis in the hope of getting the position.

A commission boss is in trouble with journalists for always seeking to tailor their stories her way. The commissioner, we are told, always warns journalists that she will speak to their board members, as if to suggest that if she perceives the story to be negative the reporters will have to answer to their bosses!

We are told that traffic cops from Kayole police station manning a road block on Kangundo road between Matunda and Kwa Muya have devised new tactic for collecting bribes from motorists. After the rogue cops were recently caught on camera taking bribes, they have opted to appoint a treasurer. A traffic policewoman has established a makeshift office on the roadside near Kwa Muya. This is where drivers take the bribes. The young lady only sits in the office reading her favourite newspaper all day while two of her men colleagues man a roadblock about 50 metres away.
