WANYONYI & HASSAN - COURAGE

  • As the Provisional results trickle in, the winners and losers are announced, certain personalities and winners need to be recognized not only for their efforts but moving stories..Two men who defied their conditions Mr. Tim Wanyonyi (who was declared the winner of WESTLANDS Parliamentary seat on an ODM ticket )and Yusuf Hassan (who was declared the Kamukunji Parliamentary seat on a TNA ticket. )
These two mps have an inspirational story similar in one thing, they were campaigning and finally won in wheel chairs...They were up against able bodied aspirants..They were once able bodied but their healthy state was stolen away from them by criminals.
Let’s start off with Yusuf Hassan, he was admitted at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi following an explosion in December last year in Eastleigh after he had just finished his evening prayers in a local mosque. He started off his campaigns in hospital, all this while his opponents had an upper hand campaigning easily and getting intouch with the voters.
The little known Mr. Tim Wanyonyi a lawyer by profession( and a brother to now senator Moses Wetangula) had just graduated with a degree in law and started his career in legal practice and his life seemed promising ..this was suddenly interrupted in 1998 when he came face to face with criminals who shot him, leaving him with a shattered spinal cord that reduced him to a wheelchair..After rehabilitation, counseling he picked up the pieces to head the Kenyan Paraplegic Organization has emerged as a center for the empowerment of paraplegics and an ever ascending player in disability advocacy.
Look at this in a different picture, these two waheshimiwa with their special need state are ready to serve us,but sisi with all our healthy state choose to use our ability to cause destruction and harm…do you feel challenged by them?are we ready to use our ability for the good of our country? DECODE..NIAJE NIAJE
