ODM POLITICIANS thrown out of the national Tallying centre at Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi by IEBC

Thursday March 7, 2013 - There was drama at Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday night, after a section of Orange Party top politicians were thrown out of the venue.

Trouble started after the politicians who are close confidantes of Prime Minister Raila Odinga protested over official results released by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The unfolding drama forced IEBC officials to order that members of ODM leave the auditorium.

The politicians argued that the results being announced had not been verified by agents at the national tallying centre.

Suba MP elect John Mbadi of ODM said the politicians were disgruntled because beside IEBC allegedly not allowing agents into the tallying room, agents were receiving forms of the Presidential results after announcement of the results.

“This is a national tallying centre like the one at the county and constituency level.  You must allow in agents now we do not know what is going in there because IEBC has chased out all agents. As we speak, no coalition is represented in that room,” Mbadi said.

“Giving us forms after announcing the results will not help because there is no law that allows retraction of results once announced,” he added.

Among those thrown out are, former MPs Johnstone Muthama, James Orengo, John Mbadi, Dalmas Otieno among others.
