MOSES WETANGULA’s brother succeeds ODM’s FRED GUMO in Westlands, Nairobi




Thursday March 7, 2013 - Brother to Trade Minister Moses Wetangula, Tom Wanyonyi became the immediate successor of former Westland’s MP Fred Gumo after he clinched the Westlands Parliamentary seat.

ODM’s Timothy Wanyonyi Wetangula, who has been disabled for the last 15 years after a spinal injury, won with 42,558 votes against his closest rival Kamlesh Pattni who had 4,067 votes.

Meanwhile, in Kasarani parliamentary seat, Mr John Njoroge Chege of TNA became the immediate successor of ODM’s Elizabeth Ongoro. Chege secured 44,573 votes out of the 91,616 votes cast to beat six other candidates.  He was followed by Ms Mercy Wanjiku (DP) with 20,355 votes.
