Thursday, the 21st of March 2013 - News just in indicates that the Kenyan Defence Forces (KDF) will tomorrow fate President Mwai Kibaki with a military-style ceremony set in his honour.
The parade will take place tomorrow morning at the Moi Air Base in Nairobi. The parade is expected to feature a guard of honour and war plane flybys.
Kibaki has served as both Head of State and the Commander in Chief of Kenya’s armed forces for the last ten years.
It was under Kibaki’s watch that Kenya sent troops into Somalia to fight the Al Shabaab terror group that had carried out attacks on Kenyan soil. It was the first time in decades that Kenya had invaded another country. KDF troops are still in Somalia but they are now fighting under the umbrella of the AU’s AMISOM force.
More updates to follow.
