Kabando wa Kabando Resigns

Kabando wa Kabando Resigns
The immediate former Member of Parliament for Mukurweini and Assistant Minister for sports Kabando wa Kabando has resigned from his post as assistant Minister.

Kabando has said that he gave his resignation letter on Wednesday.
Kabando says that he has surrendered the Ministry reports, vehicles, the drivers and staff.
Kabando is now asking all Ministers and Assistant Ministers who have not yet resigned to follow suit and do so immediately as they have no roles to play.
During a news conference on Thursday morning, Kabando stated that he would not want to be part of another grand coalition born of blood and deaths on innocent lives.
Kabando's resignation comes after a quit notice was issued by the Head of Civil Service Francis Kimemia.
The quit notice was read by the Government spokesman Muthui Kariuki.
However, Prime Minister Raila Odinga dismissed calls by the Head of Civil Service Francis Kimemia to have all the elected Ministers and Assistant Ministers resign before being sworn in.
Odinga said that the statement by Kimemia is misplaced and lack the constitutional and legal foundation.
The Premier argued that the term of the current Cabinet is still intact as the Grand Coalition Government is still in place.
Odinga said that Kimemia’s statement has no legal basis as the tenure of the present Cabinet is well governed under section 12 of the sixth schedule.
However, Kimemia maintains that the order still stands.
