Four cabinet ministers have resigned from office just one day before they take new oath of office.
Public service minister Dalmas Otieno, Education minister Mutula Kilonzo and their energy counterpart Kiraitu Murungi are among the latest political leaders to formally announce their resignation.
The constitution states that all cabinet ministers to be henceforth known as cabinet secretaries must not be from elected members of parliament.
According to the circular, those who would not relinquish their public offices by the time of swearing in of elected officials would not be allowed to take the oath of their new positions.
Earlier several Ministers and Assistant Ministers announced their resignation from the political posts they held following the release of the Government circular.
