Wednesday, the 20th of March 2013 -The Kenyan DAILY POST has confirmed that the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) plans to hold a series of ‘thank you’ rallies in Kisumu, Kakamega and Nakuru over the coming weekend.
Official communication from the CORD media team says that the rallies are part of the coalition’s mission to thank its supporters for voting for it and its candidates in the March 4th election.
The Kenyan DAILY POST has however learnt from sources within the coalition that the rallies will also be part of a drive by CORD principles Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula to keep alive the narrative that they won the March 4th Presidential election.
The three principals will be in Bungoma together on Saturday while on Sunday Raila will hold a major rally in Kisumu while Kalonzo will address supporters in Nakuru.
There is no word yet on how plans to hold the rallies sit with the Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo who on Monday called for a stop on political gatherings for fear that they could easily lead to dissatisfaction and chaos.
