Class six pupil kills father in Naivasha

By Antony Gitonga
A 13 year old boy went berserk in a Naivasha village killing his 50 year old father as the mother watched.
The class six pupil was later arrested as he fled from Huruma area in Ndabibi and is being held at Kongoni police station.
Soon after the killing, area residents held a demonstration and called for the arrest of the mother whom they accused of working with the son to kill the 50 year old man.
According to a neighbor James King’ori, trouble started after the father who is a flower farm worker got incensed by the loud music coming from the son’s room.
“He ordered the son to put off the radio but he declined and the man smashed it into pieces and a fight ensued,” he said.
It was during the fight that the teenager over-powered his father and smashed a rock on his chest killing him on the spot.
Quick efforts by police and members of the public saw the suspect arrested as he tried to flee from the area.
The witness wondered why police had not arrested the mother saying that she was involved in the murder.
“The boy is notorious in the area and has been involved in a series of crimes and we are wondering why the mother has not been arrested,” he said.
Naivasha deputy OCPD Paul Korir confirmed the murder saying that investigations were still doing on.
“Initial investigations indicated that the minor committed the act and he shall be arraigned in court tomorrow,” he said.
Meanwhile a motorcycle operator was crushed to death by a speeding bus along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The accident near Karai trading center adversely affected the flow of traffic before police cleared the road.
The operator was crossing the road when the bus which was heading to Nairobi from Nakuru hit him killing him on the spot.
The body was taken to the Naivasha district hospital mortuary and the bus towed to Naivasha police station.
