Chinua Achebe is DEAD …. Great writer dies at 82



Friday, the 22nd of March 2013 - News just in indicates that Nigerian writer and the ‘father of the African novel’ Chinua Achebe has died at a hospital in the United States at 82.

Reports are still trickling in but Achebe is said to have passed on at a hospital in Boston on Thursday night.

Achebe, who taught Brown University before his death, is said to have been ill for quite a while and had been admitted at the yet undisclosed hospital.

Achebe leaves behind a rich body of work that includes such classics as his seminal work ‘Things Fall Apart’, ‘No longer at ease’ and ‘A man of the people’.

Most of his early work was taught as set books across Africa.
