Your votes will set US FREE - UHURU and RUTO tell Kenyans

Saturday February 9, 2013 - Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto have urged Kenyans to vote for them so that they can be exonerated from the International Criminal Court (ICC) charges facing them.

Addressing thousands of their supporters in Uashin Gishu County on Friday, Uhuru, who is also the Jubilee coalition Presidential flag bearer, said The Hague would see that Kenyans have confidence in their leadership and acquit them of their criminal cases.

Uhuru, who was accompanied by his running mate William Ruto, took a swipe at their CORD rivals for telling voters not to vote for them on the basis of the ICC cases.

“We came together with Mr Ruto under the Jubilee coalition to show the world that there is no animosity between the Kalenjins and the Kikuyu as many believe,” Uhuru said.

He said the Jubilee coalition was ready to accept defeat if they fail to clinch the Presidency, saying other leaders should embrace the same spirit.

“If we lose the elections we would still unite Kenyans so that we can build a government for all. If we win then our competitors should also acknowledge defeat,” The DPM said.

Ruto on his part said Jubilee coalition has an agenda and numbers of winning the upcoming election, urging CORD leaders and supporters to prepare themselves for a resounding defeat on March 4th.
