Will it be RAILA or UHURU ……. Next PRESIDENT to be sworn in at KASARANI STADIUM

Friday, the 8th of February 2013 - Head of the Civil Service Francis Kimemia has today revealed that the next President of Kenya will be sworn in at Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium. Previously the venue for the swearing in had been set as Nyayo stadium.

Kimemia said that the decision for the change of venue of the swearing in ceremony has been informed by the desire to fit in more guests;

“We have changed venue of swearing in the new President to Kasarani which has capacity of 60,000 guests, from Nyayo’s 20,000” he explained.

Today’s announcement comes one week after Kimemia revealed the timetable for the handover of power from the Kibaki administration to the newly elected President.

The timetable set the swearing in ceremony for March 26th in the case where there is a clear winner of the March 4th elections. In case of a run-off the swearing in ceremony will be moved to the 30th of April.

More details to follow.
