UHURU and RAILA’s camps should stop talking about LAND ….. It is HATE SPEECH

Thursday, the 7th of February 2013 -The head of the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Archbishop Eliud Wabukala has called for all politicians to be gagged from talking about the land issue since it amounts to hate speech.

Speaking at a media briefing in Nakuru this morning, Wabukala called for the police and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to sanction politicians who bring up the land issue in an effort to gain political mileage.

Wabukala said that debate on stolen land and other hot button issues should be shelved until after the election when they can be dealt with in a reasonable manner by the elected leaders.

By speaking out today on the debate over the land issue, Wabukala has joined a growing chorus of voices that already includes Police Inspector General David Kimaiyo and Chairman of the NCIC Mzalendo Kibunja.

In related news NCIC Vice-Chairperson Milly Lwanga said that the commission has no intention to gag politicians from engaging in free speech during their campaigns.
