RAILA’s CORD in coalition wrangles as KALEMBE tells MUTHAMA off …

Wednesday, February 6th 2013 - The Independent Party (TIP) leader Kalembe  Ndile has reacted sharply against the remarks made by Machakos senate aspirant on Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) ticket Jonston Muthama on small parties within CORD.

The former Kangundo legislator criticized smaller parties within the CORD alliance for confusing voters by fielding their own candidates for Parliamentary, County and women representatives under the banner of CORD.

In his remarks, Muthama claimed that majority of CORD supporters are only concerned about the bigger players in the coalition that is ODM, Wiper and Ford Kenya, and that all other smaller parties within the alliance are just but a burden to CORD who are in to spoil for the big parties.

In a quick rejoinder, Kalembe called on Muthama to respect and keep off the affairs of other independent parties within CORD. He said Muthama was going against the CORD spirit of togetherness and democracy and urged him to embrace them since they were equal players in the Cord equation.

He urged Muthama to concentrate on wining the Machakos Senatorial seat and ensure Raila and Kalonzo gets to State House come March 4th general election.

He challenged Muthama to say if the nominations in the just concluded party primaries of the so called big parties were free and fair. He asserted that the contribution they are bringing  to Raila’s presidency and CORD as a whole is enormous and therefore should not be overlooked.
