RAILA says he will clinch the PRESIDENCY before NOON on March 4th and promises to eliminate Tana Delta CLASHES completely

Saturday February 6, 2013 - CORD’s Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga has pledged to eliminate the Tana Delta clashes completely, when he forms the government on March 5.

Speaking at a rally in Hola town on Friday, the PM said there was urgent need to address the causes of the perennial clashes pitting different communities residing in the area.

Raila said it was unacceptable that communities who have been co-existing can suddenly rise against each other.

Citing different clashes that have claimed more than 150lives, Raila said there was need to establish the boundaries between the communities as one ways of addressing the insecurity.

The PM defended the arrest of former Galole MP Dhado Ghodana, saying it was wrong to arrest him when he was in fact involved in peace initiatives.

“I was disturbed that they had to wait when I was on an official visit abroad to arrest and arraign him in court over trumped up charges,” Ghodana said.

The PM also urged voters to elect CORD coalition into government, noting it was best placed to implement the constitution.

“I especially want to urge our supporters to turn up in large numbers to vote for us, because failure to vote is a vote for our competitors,” Raila said.

The PM, who is also ODM party leader, expressed confidence that they will clinch the Presidency before noon on March 4th.
