NYONG’O begs MUDAVADI to support RAILA as NAMWAMBA tells him he needs a MIRACLE to be PRESIDENT

Friday February 8, 2013 - Leaders drawn from Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) are now asking Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi to drop his Presidential ambition and support Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Led by ODM Secretary General Prof Anyang Nyongo, the leaders said it will be shameful for Mudavadi to be locked out of the next Government.

Nyongo said opinion polls have indicated that CORD Presidential candidate Raila Odinga has 47 percent while Mudavadi has 5 percent.

Nyongo, who is also the immediate former Kisumu Rural MP, asked Mudavadi to combine his 5 percent backing with Raila’s 47 percent to enable CORD win in the first round with 52 percent.

Nyong’o’s remarks were also echoed by Sports Minister Ababu Namwamba who said for Mudavadi to win the Presidency he needs miracle from Jehovah.

“It is not miracle for Raila to become the fourth President, but it will be a miracle for Mudavadi with only five percent support to win the Presidency,’ Namwamba who is also the Budalang’i MP said.

Namwamba also stated that Raila has promised to rule for one term.

“This will be a golden chance for Mudavadi to succeed him in 2017,” he said.

The two leaders were addressing wananchi at Kayonzo town in Matungu constituency.
