‘No two horse race in this election’ says Kiyiapi

Kiyiapi promised to unite all Kenyans, improve education and health standards and declare youth unemployment a national disaster
Restore and Build Kenya Party( RBK) presidential candidate Prof. James Ole Kiyiapi has dismissed calls by a section of politicians terming this year's general election as two horse race saying he is up to task and ready to battle it out with the rest.
He added that such leaders are selfish, non-reformers and have nothing good to offer to Kenyans saying they are in for a big shock.
"I want to tell you Kenyans that there is nothing like two horse race in this election. I am ready and up to task to battle it out with the rest come march 4, " he said.
Speaking in Machakos County, he said Kenyans are the only people who have the key to elect the leaders they want.
He reiterated that Kenyans have the best opportunity to change the country this coming election by ushering new credible and loyal leaders who are to take this country to the next level.
"Time is now for you to change the leadership of this country and you can only do that by voting the right leaders come March 4," he said.
Free and compulsory education
Elsewhere, the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) alliance Wednesday concluded their  campaign tour of Nyanza region and embarked on a day long rallies in the Rift Valley region.
Prime Minister Raila Odinga was in Homa Bay County and Siaya while the Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka held meetings in Elgeyo Marakwet  and  BaringoCounties.
Speaking at the Iten stadium, Mr. Musyoka assured that the CORD government  will transform agricultural sector to make it economically viable and contribute to the national economic growth.
He  said that the next government under CORD alliance will change the governance system to make it an all inclusive where every citizen will be proud to be part of the national transformation.
The Vice President added that CORD government will give a face-lift to the agricultural sector, infrastructural and industrial development to expand employment opportunities and ensure adequate healthcare services.
Mr. Musyoka said that the next government under the coalition will provide free and compulsory education besides employing more teachers whose terms of services will also be improved.
The Vice President at the same time said the CORD Manifesto has an elaborate development programme that include economic empowerment for the youth through provision of grants and skill training on entrepreneurship to enable them start businesses.
Mr. Musyoka commended the President of the United States of America for assuring that the US will not interfere with Kenya's internal affairs, particularly in the forthcoming  electoral process.
Speaking earlier at Samitsi market in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County, Mr. Musyoka assured cane farmers that CORD government will ensure that they reap maximum benefit from their produce by addressing the challenges facing the sugar industry.
The Vice President lamented that it was improper for middlemen and multilateral companies to benefit more at the expense of efforts made by farmers.
In Iten stadium, Mr. Musyoka said CORD government will ensure adequate and affordable farm input to boost agricultural production and guarantee food security.
The Vice President promised that the government will not tax money earned by y athletes  and other sports men and women  abroad, noting that the money is always taxed at the source.
Mr. Musyoka promised that the CORD government will return ownership of the Kenya Cooperative Creameries to farmers to run and  fully benefit from the sells of their milk.
He said that land had been identified in Rongai to settle the internally Displaced Persons from embubut forest and soon they would be allocated.
Mr. Musyoka further added that CORD government will issue  tittle deeds to owners  of land  and  will always respect the sanctity of such documents.
While in Kabarnet town, Mr. Musyoka spoke against negative ethnicity and said CORD will unite all Kenyans irrespective of their tribe, religion or any social background.
The Vice President called on Kenyans to vote in credible leaders at the county level who will be able to manage well devolved funds for development, saying such finances should be used to improve rural access  roads, medical centers and schools among others.
Mr. Musyoka stressed the need for people to uphold peace during campaigns and after elections and asked all aspirants to conduct themselves with decorum.
The Vice President was accompanied by Cabinet Minister, Gedion Ndambuki, former Kitui South legislator, Isaac Muoki and local political aspirant allied to CORD.
