LUHYA should vote for RAILA because MUDAVADI is UHURU/ RUTO's project - JIRONGO

Saturday February 16, 2013 - Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) party leader Cyrus Jirongo has revealed why he dropped his ambitions to be President of this country, by saying he did it for the sake of uniting Luhya community.

Addressing his supporters at Mumias Cultural Centre on Friday, Jirongo who is immediate former Lugari MP said his exit from the State House race was buoyed by a strong resolve to ensure the Western vote counts in the March 4 Presidential poll.

He said this would be realized by putting off individual interests and voting for Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD).

Jirongo accused Jubilee Presidential flag bearer Uhuru Kenyatta of harbouring a hidden motive and said Prime Minister Raila Odinga was a better option.

“We cannot afford to divide our votes as Amani, as a coalition headed by Musalia Mudavadi is linked to Jubilee alliance,” Jirongo said.

“If you vote for Amani you slice down Raila’s votes; are you ready to be led for 10 years by Uhuru and 10 others by Ruto?” Jirongo posed.
