Eugene calls for six pieces voting in Bungoma County

Bungoma County: Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs Eugene Wamalwa has called upon Bungoma County residents to vote on six piece basis in the forth coming general election.
Speaking at rallies in Webuye West and Webuye East Constituencies, Wamalwa who is leader of the New Ford Kenya party emphasized the need for the residents to vote on a six piece for Governor, Senator, Women Representative, Members of Parliament and County Assembly Representatives on the party ticket and for Musalia Mudavadi for presidency.
Wamalwa who was accompanied by leaders allied to New Ford Kenya party stated that when initiating the Amani Coalition, there was an agreement on zoning the aspirants in the parties’ strongholds.
He said New Ford Kenya party was to field candidates in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia Counties while the United Democratic Forum  UDF party was to field candidates in Vihiga and Kakamega Counties where they have a strong backing.
“Musalia and I had an agreement when we came together to form Amani coalition that all candidates for the UDF party in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia Counties to step aside for the New Ford Kenya candidates and the same applies for the New Ford Kenya candidates in Kakamega and Vihiga counties,” said Wamalwa.
He dismissed claims by their political counterparts that the Luhya community could not vote in one block stating that Amani coalition attests to momentous unity by the community which had been previously believed to be divided.
“Recently one of the presidential flag bearers termed the luhya votes as so cheap and easily trapped by a bait likening us to chicken that is about to be slaughtered for a meal, which is a wrong perception that needs to be scrapped off,” said Wamalwa.
He also criticized the move by one of the luhya leaders in CORD alliance to tell the community that he had been given a leader of majority seat in the coalition terming that as misleading discourse owing to the recently released information whereby presidential aspirant Raila Odinga and his Deputy Kalonzo Musyoka were sharing power 50-50 without considering the other parties in the alliance.
“Our brother is being lied to that he will be the leader of majority yet the recent report shows the two principles in the coalition sharing slots half-half leaving him with nothing and we want him to stop misleading the public,” said Wamalwa.
He applauded the gesture by some aspirants for the Webuye West seat on New Ford Kenya who lost in the nominations to support the candidate who won terming it as selfless and endeared towards strengthening the party to be able to clench the seat.
“I appreciate Mr. Maurice Mukinginyi and Don Captain for agreeing to support Mr.Dan Wanyama and their offer to campaign for him so that he emerges winner in the coming election,” said Wamalwa.
Speaking at the same venues, aspirant for the gubernatorial seat Mr.Kenneth Lusaka revealed that the Sh.6.8 Billion that Bungoma County will receive in the County government requires good leaders to be able to manage those resources well.
“The only way to put an end to problems facing people in the County which are poverty and hunger is through electing good leaders who will be able to manage well the resources at the County, said Lusaka.
He boosted of 24 years in government service saying he was most fit for the job because of his experience in governance and said the governor seat required good governing leader and not politicians.
He said that in his government he will ensure that the first Sh. 200 Million dispatched in the County is wired towards empowering the youths, women and men in their groups.
On the other had the aspirant for the Senatorial position Mr.Musikari Kombo revealed his devoted efforts to ensuring that Nzoia Sugar Company’s privatization was only done in the reign of a County government and not before.
He revealed plans by some people to ensure the selling of the company’s shares to some known business men who had no good will for the company instead of waiting to sell the shares to County residents.
He called upon Bungoma County residents to vet their leaders properly on their performance track records before embarking on voting for them.
He said if chosen he will champion for the rights of the sugarcane farmers who are always disadvantaged and the trade leaving them with no profit as well as ensuring cane cutters are paid their due arrears.
