CORD will take Mudavadi back, say Kalonzo

By ERIC LUNGAI
Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka has promised that the CORD government will accommodate Amani coalition presidential candidate Musalia Mudavadi in case he loses and they win in next month’s elections.
Kalonzo was speaking at Sosa cottages in Vihiga after opening a conference centre at the facility, which is intended to benefit the community.
“Our government will be an all-inclusive one, and we will not harbour any grudges against anyone who is not on our side. Musalia will definitely be considered,” he said.
Kalonzo said it was unfortunate that the trap set by Uhuru Kenyatta earlier on had inadvertently caught Mudavadi while he had evaded it due to his wise calculations.
However, he said they would not accommodate the frontrunners in the Jubilee coalition, unless they clear their names in their pending cases at the International Criminal Court.
“Our brothers in the other coalition must first of all wash their hands clean, before they can dine with the elders who are the electorate,” he added.
He further said if people vote for CORD, they were to rest assured their future was in safe hands. The coalition’s main agenda, he said, was to unite people and spearhead rapid development.
Kalonzo revealed that he had sacrificed his presidential ambition because he felt that Kenya was bigger than his desires.
Kalonzo praised Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula, saying he had shown true statesmanship in supporting CORD presidential hopeful Raila Odinga.
