The FEAR of Mike SONKO in Nairobi POLITICS …. After MUTULA and GUMO now WANJIRU is in FEAR

Wednesday January 24, 2013 -Immediate former Starehe legislator Margaret Wanjiru fears to compete with flamboyant Makadara MP Mike Sonko in the Nairobi senatorial race, DAILY POST can now report.

According to credible sources, Wanjiru is still pondering on whether to accept the direct nomination to vie for the Nairobi Senator position saying her party gave her an uphill task to compete with the outgoing Makadara lawmaker.

Wanjiru, who was barred from vying for Nairobi County Governor seat due to academic reasons, was overheard saying that ODM gave her a “death certificate” instead of a nomination certificate meaning that she was not satisfied with the direct ticket for Nairobi senate seat.

“Sonko is a force to reckon in Nairobi and by competing with him is like requesting an early retirement in politics,” Wanjiru told one of her close family members.

The Makadara lawmaker has taken the city by storm and Wanjiru may face numerous hurdles for her to trounce Sonko on March 4th. This is not the first ODM lawmaker to fear Sonko, first it was Mutula Kilonzo who was requested by Raila Odinga to move to Nairobi politics but declined because of Sonko. Then came former Westlands MP Fred Gumo who entirely called it a day in politics as he targets a Ministerial appointment. Here now comes Wanjiru ………..

Sonko is vying the seat on The National Alliance (TNA) party ticket while Wanjiru is vying with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.
