The latest opinion poll released Friday by Ipsos Synovate, indicates that neither Prime Minister Raila Odinga nor Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta would win the presidency in round one if elections were held today.
None of the two presidential candidates would get the 50 plus one percent needed to win the presidency.
According to the poll, CORD presidential candidate Prime Minister Raila Odinga remains the most popular presidential candidate and would emerge winner if General Elections were held today.
Odinga would garner 46 percent of the votes and enjoys more than 51 percent support in six provinces.
His Deputy Uhuru Kenyatta who is the Jubilee coalition flag bearer comes second at 40 percent with a huge following in Central province.
Amani coalition presidential aspirant Musalia Mudavadi has 5 percent while Eagle flag bearer Peter Kenneth and Narc Kenya Martha Karua managed 1 percent respectively.
Synovate political analyst Tom Wolf said Uhuru's support increased from 27 percent to 40 while Odinga's support went up from 34 to 46 percent. Wolf said the results show a runoff is inevitable.
