Oburu, Oduol disqualified

By Digital Reporter
Nairobi, Kenya: Siaya County governor aspirants Oburu Odinga and William Oduol have been ruled out of the contest after the ODM board nullified their nomination results.
A dispute arose after the nominations were conducted as the initial results indicated that Oburu had been defeated, only hours later ODM announced that he had won.
To allow the matter to be dealt with adequately, the party Chairman Franklin Bett on Saturday announced that the dispute was still unresolved, and called for patience from supporters as the board looked into the matter.
Bett announced the nullification during a press conference held at a Nairobi hotel on Monday night.
Other parties are facing similar situation, among them TNA where the results for Kipipiri constituency remain unknown following an announement that Cabinet Minister Amos Kimunya had won. The Constituency returning officer denounced the results saying that at no point did he announce Kimunya the parliamentary winner.
