MARTHA KARUA picks AUGUSTINE LOTODO as RUNNING MATE

Monday, the 21st of January 2013 - Narc Kenya Presidential aspirant Martha Karua has picked the party’s Vice President Augustine Lotodo as her running mate.

Lotodo, a former MP in the East African Legislative Assembly, replaced Asman Kamama as Narc Kenya’s No.2 back in March 2012. He has accompanied Karua to most of her campaign rallies and pundits have speculated for some time that he would be her likely running mate.

Martha made the announcement first through her twitter handle before going on to address a press conference. Before making the announcement, Martha teased her followers on Twitter with clues about who she would reveal as her running mate.

In the clues she described Lotodo as ‘a devoted family man who believes in a better Kenya!’ and a man who she has ‘traversed the country together from Kilifi to Busia, and Pokot to Machakos’ in their campaigns.

Martha also said that she had “consulted my party Narc Kenya and my advisors before making this decision!”

“My decision was based on ideals of trust, dedication and unwavering faith in a greater Kenya,” she added.
