KISIA and OMAR HASSAN defect from RAILA’s ODM…still in CORD though

Thursday, the 17th of January 2013 -The Kenya DAILY POST has confirmed that Philip Kisia and Hassan Omar Hassan, both strong supporters of CORD Presidential aspirants Prime Minister Raila Odinga, have ditched ODM for other parties within the CORD coalition.

Kisia, the former Nairobi town clerk, announced his decision to shift from ODM to Cyrus Jirongo’s Federal Party of Kenya this morning.

This leaves the way clear for former Mumias Sugar Company MD Evens Kidero to clinch the ODM nomination since Margret Wanjiru has been barred from contesting due to lack of academic qualifications.

Hassan Omar meanwhile has defected to Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party.

The defections appear to be designed so as to ensure that the ‘big wig’ aspirants stay in CORD and yet still compete for the seats against each other in the March 4thpolls.
