Kingwa Kamencu Left Partyless As LPK Joins CORD

Labour Party of Kenya will support Raila Odinga´s presidential race and not that of its candidate Kingwa Kamencu. This move leaves the youthful candidate party-less and may cripple her 2013 presidential ambition.
Here below is a statement issued by Miss Kamencu regarding LPK´s decision to Join CORD.
My campaign team and i have NOT joined CORD. The Labour Party of Kenya leadership went behind our backs and struck deals without our knowledge. We heard about it on the media ourselves. We are not surprised, this is Kenyan politics. It now looks like we will have to look for another party to house our campaign.
If we wanted to join the status quo leadership, we would have done so a long time. But we are interested in transformational leadership and the status quo leadership, big as the different groups may be, is so entrenched in a system that is cannibalistic and predatory, that feeds on the people it is supposed to serve, that is only interested in the search for money and power that it kills and steals from its own people. You get into such a system hoping to change it and it is so rigid and powerful that it ends up changing you.
So we are now looking for other options and we shall keep you posted as time goes by. Please share this message around to clarify that misinformation going round. We are NOT ‘Corded’ (Oh no, we walking free). We are also getting in touch with the media to inform them of the truth of what is really happening.
