I am humbled-Kidero


Dear Friends, I have taken time to read and digest all your comments regarding my Television interview on Sunday Live last night. I am humbled, overwhelmed and appreciate all your comments. Below, please find my pledge to Nairobians

Better water and health for your family: Improved and extended water supply services; reduced leakages and pipe bursts; improved basic health standards; safer environmental sanitation; improved availability, distribution, staffing and equipment for all health facilities in the city

Better transport, housing and outdoor facilities: improved housing and living conditions; better land use and transportation arrangements; reduced vehicle pollution; traffic jam; cleared drainage channels; improved handling of hazardous and toxic substances; better dumping site rehabilitation arrangements

Better security in your neighbourhood: Increased police visibility; enhanced youth employment programmes; adequate street and neighbourhood lighting; improved opportunities for dialogue to create and sustain interethnic peace; public rehabilitation programmes for reformed criminals

Better education for your child: Improved access and utilization of education and youth development services; professional standards for education and youth development facilities; market-driven education and training for the youth; better facilities and rewards for employees in the education sector

Better enterprise development and employment opportunities: efficiently collected and transparently spent tax revenues; increased public investment in energy generation and distribution; quick access to business licenses; improved employment opportunities through the acceleration of economic growth

Better attention to your rights and needs: Improved attention to the rights and needs of women, children and persons with disability; gender parity ensured in administrative structures; legal and administrative mechanisms put in place to ensure that persons with disability get their constitutional entitlements

Better management of your city’s resources: Evidence based planning of the city and its resources; efficient water supply and waste management methods and facilities; discipline and approval of building and works; investing in sufficient public utilities, services and facilities; establishing a sustainable framework for development projects

I shall be articulating and detailing these pledges over the next fourty two days. I take this early opportunity to thank you for your concerns and continued support
