RAILA says KIBAKI is the father of Kenya’s economic revolution

Monday November 12, 2012 - Prime Minister Raila Odinga has termed President Mwai Kibaki as the President who will go down in history as the father of Kenya’s economic renaissance.

Speaking at the PCEA church in Chogoria on Sunday, Raila paid tribute to President Kibaki saying he has helped the country make “tremendous progress” since 2007/08 post election violence.

The PM recalled the suspicion and mistrust that characterised the early days of the coalition saying it took a lot of effort by the President and himself to build confidence among Kenyans.

The PM said he will carry on with President Kibaki’s legacy if elected President next year.

“As Kibaki retires, I want to pay tribute to him for the strides we have made. I wish him really well as he prepares to retire. As ODM, we want to take over from where he is leaving and continue making Kenya a better place,” the PM said.
