An ODM reloaded rally in Chepkorio, Elgeyo-Marakwet county, aborted as rivalry between two groups played in the open.
The team led by Sports Minister Ababu Namwamba and Gwasi MP John Mbadi failed to hold the rally on Monday as party supporters failed to turn up at the venue.
ODM local leaders said they boycotted the rally because Tabitha Seii, who had organised the event, does not enjoy political goodwill in the area.
Party officials said Mrs Seii's rivalry with former cabinet minister Nicholas Biwott for the Elgeyo-Marakwet senate seat does not sit well with constituents.
Led by branch secretary Wilson Barbenge, the officials said they fully support ODM but are opposed to the candidature of Mrs Tabitha Seii.
“We will vote for Raila as President, but we shall vote for Biwott as senator,” said Mr Barbenge.
However Mrs Seii said the rally failed because there was cattle auctioning a few metres from the venue of the meeting.
Mr Namwamba and Mr Mbadi did not get out of their vehicles as the drama unfolded.
