ODM is panicking in NYANZA ……. Don’t panic – TNA MPs tell ODM

Sunday November 18, 2012 - Four MPs allied to Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s party, The National Alliance (TNA) Gusii chapter, have called their ODM opponents not to panic due to Uhuru’s euphoria in the region.

Responding to claims by ODM politicians who dismissed Prof Sam Ongeri’s sentiments that the Gusii region was a strong base for TNA, MPs Walter Nyambati (Kitutu Masaba), Wilfred Ombui (North Mugirango/Borabu), Robert Monda and Ongeri said their competitors are panicking after sensing defeat.

In a joint statement by the four MPs, the lawmakers said the electorate in Kisii and Nyamira counties had already decided on which political vehicle to board and challenged politicians who were still "stuck" in other parties to decamp and join them.

“ODM has been organising their activities in the region and we have never interfered with them but we are surprised that just one event has sent shivers across the region. They should not panic,” Ombui said.

The MPs vowed to camp in their constituencies to make sure the DPM Uhuru Kenyatta emerges victorious in the upcoming general election.
