By Martin Mutua and Moses Njagih
Energy minister Kiraitu Murungi has said the Alliance Party of Kenya (APK) will not enter into any pre-election pacts with other parties.
Kiraitu who is the APK party leader said they would go it alone as talks for political deals with other parties had failed.
“There has been word doing the rounds that the APK was in talks with Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi, this is not true as there are no such talks,” he added.
He also ruled out any talks with Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s The National Alliance Party.
“The bus is going it alone upto the ballot and our members are advised accordingly since none of the other parties are willing to work with us,” he added.
The minister said the party was now preparing its own presidential candidate who shall be unveiled soon.
At the same time, Kiraitu hit out at TNA accusing it of “political superiority complex” which he said had led to the collapse of coalition talks.
