Kenneth, Tuju urge Kenyans to coexist, preach peace

By Lornah Kibet
Presidential aspirants Peter Kenneth and Raphael Tuju have condemned recent violent incidents and urged Kenyans to preach peace during and after next year’s General Election.
They were speaking at the Village Market, Nairobi, during a club art exhibition and silent auction on Thursday night where bids to purchase rungus, in support of peace efforts were made.
Proceeds from the auction will go towards The Peace Caravan to support peace building programmes in the run up to the March 4 General Election.
Industrialisation Assistant minister Nderitu Muriithi and The peace Caravan leader Sam Kona were also present.
Mr Kenneth warned that it only takes a small trigger for violence to erupt. He asked Kenyans to advocate for peace always and coexist with other communities to avoid a repeat of 2007/8 Post Elections Violence (PEV).
Mr Tuju blamed the recurring violence incidences on idle youth saying the country needs to proritise job creation.
