One of the applicants for the positions of Inspector General and deputy Inspector General's position is on the spot after a complaint was raised about his degree awarded by a Rift Valley based university. The applicant is reported to have been award maximum marks for a Continuous Assessment Test(CAT:) yet the man was out of the country at the time when the examinations were being done. A scrutiny of the exam papers submitted at the time indicate that the handwriting is different from the applicant. The university has presented its findings about the discrepancies to the National Police Service Commission which is supposed to make a decision—to either disqualify the applicant or demand an explanation

A political aspirant from Nyeri was overheard bragging aloud that he had so much money that he would still be left with a bundle even if he used Sh1,000 notes to boil Githeri (maize and beans). He went to promise his supporters he will pour money with or without IEBC rules. He even claimed that he has done so in the past and declared that IEBC cannot enforce the new rules. “Enforced by who?” he said adding that IEBC is 'toothless and helpless!'

The Kenya Airports Authority might need to look into growing complaints that some of their managers are demanding kickbacks from people who want to set up businesses, tour offices or even forex bureaux in the new terminus which is under construction. Some of those who had such businesses in the old terminal are claiming their applications are not being considered as they are unwilling to pay the huge sums of 'goodwill' being demanded.
