When Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his Deputy Uhuru Kenyatta met on Friday in public and fixed a meeting for tomorrow morning many of their supporters were surprised that they were not put in the loop. They are still wondering what the two are planning and like everyone else, can only speculate as to what the agenda of the meeting will be about.

Politicians have reverted back to their old habits of digging up dirt on each other so that they can dent their rival's reputation and hopefully, cut short their political campaigns. The latest to  is a city politician who has allegedly compiled a 'dossier' on his rivals which include photographs and other evidence where they have been caught in 'compromising' situations with young girls at a private members club!

Lands ministry officials and those from the Kipsigis county council may have to get out of their offices to deal with what residents of Sosiot market in Belgut constituency say is the daylight robbery of public land. They say a powerful politician in the region and a senior administration officer from the area have been colluded to sell public land held in trust by the council to 'private developers' even though there is a ban on such sale. Maybe James Orengo needs to wield his big stick? Or is it his Local Government counterpart? Whoever it is needs to act swiftly to forestall any rash action on the part of the resident to protect what is rightfully theirs!
