REVEALED: Why UHURU rejected Bishop WANJIRU’s bid to join TNA

Wednesday October 10, 2012 - Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta rejected Starehe MP Margret Wanjiru’s demands for her to join his party The National Alliance (TNA), the DAILY POST has established.

This was revealed by former Nairobi Town Clerk Philip Kisia who said Wanjiru had demanded direct nomination for Nairobi Governor in order to join Uhuru’s party the TNA.

Kisia said Uhuru said his party was too democratic to assure her direct nomination.

Kisia was responding to questions from journalists where he warned ODM against giving in to the demands of direct nomination by some aspirants in the general election.

Kisia said the party has no option but to embrace democracy and allow aspirants to compete favorably.

“Democracy must be seen to prevail and we must recognize that the party is bigger than any of us,” Kisia said.

Kisia expressed his disappointment saying Prime Minister Raila Odinga has given in to demands by Wanjiru by offering her direct nomination if she stays in ODM.

Kisia and former Mumias Sugar CEO Dr Evans Kidero have expressed interest in the same seat using the ODM party ticket.
