Wednesday October 3, 2012-Dujis legislator Adan Duale has poked holes on yesterday’s poll by Ipsos Synovate Group that showed both Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta being neck to neck in the latest poll.
Duale who is the URP spokesman termed the opinion polls as flawed saying the Eldoret North MP William Ruto, Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi and Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka have huge support across the country.
“How can Raila lead in the polls when he has lost Rift Valley and Western regions and continue to be deserted by MPs?How does Uhuru on the other side come second in the first round and get 50 per cent in the second round when his support is only Central Kenya based,” Duale wondered.
Elsewhere, UDF first Secretary General Abraham Limo said the opinions poll did not represent the true picture on the ground.
“Mudavadi shifted to UDF with several MPS from ODM,PNU and New Ford Kenya and that tilted the scales against Raila who continues to lose MPs yet were are being told he is leading. That is an outright lie!” Limo said.
According to yesterday’s poll, Raila garnered 36 percent, followed closely by Uhuru at 30 percent, Musalia 7 percent, Eldoret North William Ruto 6 percent and Kalonzo garnered 6 percent.
In case of a runoff both Uhuru and Mudavadi will trounce Raila with a reasonable margin.
