A range rover sport gift for the bride

It turned out to be a beautiful fun-filled day for Anne Achieng’ and James Otieno-Odek filled with love, laughter and happiness
EVE BRIDAL: How did you meet?
Anne: We met back in 1989 at a mutual friend’s office and later at the friend’s house.
EB: Did you have traditional ceremonies?
James: Yes, we had traditional ceremonies.?Bride price was paid in the form of cows and was accompanied with a lot of feasting.
EB: You chose Laico Regency as your service provider, why?
Anne: We chose them for convenience, as we also wanted a central location so we could avoid the logistical aspects of outside catering, hiring of tents and seats. Having a one-stop shop concept guaranteed us quality of food, beverage and ambience.
EB: What challenges did you face?
Anne: The most challenging part of the wedding was getting the traditional part done and the time constraints. Preparing the guest list was a nightmare and delivery of the cards was also a challenge.
The best part was the love and grace of God demonstrated through commitment shown by the committee members. The other exciting part was when the committee identified and agreed on a venue.
EB: Did you have any fears on the eventful day?
Anne: I was afraid that guests might exceed the seating capacity of the venue. This actually happened, but through the grace of God, the efficient staff at the hotel handled the matter superbly.
EB: What lessons would you share with couples intending to get married in the future?
Anne: First, get committed committee members. Put God first, and you willll see miracles and resources delivered for a memorable and exciting occasion. Then again, each couple must cut their cloth according to their size. Live within your means and surrender to God almighty.
EB: Where did you go for your honeymoon?
Anne: Seychelles.
EB: What lessons did you learn from your counselor?
Anne: We learnt that the wedding ceremony is an event, marriage is a journey and if God is at the centre of the marriage, then marriage is a wonderful experience.
EB: What did you enjoy most about the wedding day?
Anne: The ambience was magnificent, the worship team and choir was awesome. It was also humbling to witness the love, joy and excitement of the guests. And what more? God’s miracle in providing
