Thursday 13/09/2012 – The Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been using Kenyan artistes to popularise his 2013 presidential bid. Raila does not even know or care about their music or interest, all he hopes to achieve is massive votes from the artists’ fans.
The smart Prime Minister fathoms that the youth view the artists as the opinion shapers. His tactic is to grab the votes of the youth without having to brand himself as a youthful leader like his younger competitors such as POA’s Raphael Tuju and URP’s William Ruto.
Last week, Redsan met the Premier and the two had a tete a tete .The PM usually has a Talk to Raila session on Thursday that is streamed live from his website. He has a 45 minutes interaction with the public privileged enough to access that channel of communication.
Additionally, he uses this forum to answer questions that are posed to him by social media users especially Facebook and Twitter. Redsan joined Raila and added his two cents on what he thought of the presidential aspirant. He praised him and urged his twitter followers and facebook fans to vote for Raila.
He then posed for a photo with him. The photo quickly circulated on the internet. In the past, BBA contestant Prezzo met up with the Prime Minister who is wooing him to join the ODM band wagon. Prezzo has severally declared admiration for Raila and even added that he would vote for him come 2013. Kigeugeu singer Jaguar has also been spotted chilling with the Prime Minister.
