  • Mr Wamalwa, the New Ford Kenya presidential hopeful, said some politicians had developed a habit of branding him a running mate of other aspirants whenever he toured parts of the country.
  • Mr Wamalwa said his political rivals were wrongly reading his game plan, saying his association with leaders from other communities was convenient since he needed their support to marshal support in his presidential bid.
  • Some leaders told the Saboti MP to go for nothing less than the presidency as the region had for long assisted other candidates ascend to power.
Justice minister Eugene Wamalwa has dismissed politicians who are questioning his State House bid and vowed to surprise them.
Mr Wamalwa, the New Ford Kenya presidential hopeful, said some politicians had developed a habit of branding him a running mate of other aspirants whenever he toured parts of the country.
“When I go to Nyanza they say I’m Raila’s running mate, when I go to Central they say I’m Uhuru’s running mate which is not the case,” he said in his Saboti constituency.
He went on: “I want to challenge those who are doubting my candidature to be prepared for a big surprise because I know for sure that I will make it.”
Mr Wamalwa said his political rivals were wrongly reading his game plan, saying his association with leaders from other communities was convenient since he needed their support to marshal support in his presidential bid.
“You know I cannot make it alone without seeking help from other regions and that’s why I have thought it appropriate to work with like-minded politicians not just for the sake of elections but peaceful co-existence,” he said.
During former Vice-President Wamalwa Kijana’s memorial service last month, some leaders told the Saboti MP to go for nothing less than the presidency as the region had for long assisted other candidates ascend to power.
Ford Kenya officials recently criticised Mr Wamalwa’s presidential bid arguing it was meant to divide the region which most aspirants are banking on for the “swing vote”.
