TNA party has won two seats in the hotly contested parliamentary by-elections in Kangema and Kajiado North constituencies . TNA's candidate, Moses Ole Sakuda, beat his closest challenger Peter Mositet (ODM) to capture the Kajiado North parliamentary seat. The seat fell vacant following the death of the former Internal Security minister George Saitoti who died in a helicopter crash in June. In Kangema, Ngahu Nyingi (TNA) beat closest rival Simon Mwangi (UDFP)  to claim victory.  The victory in the by-elections is expected to give a lift to Uhuru Kenyatta's presidential campaign and also popularise the TNA party.
ODM recaptured the Ndhiwa parliamentary seat, incoming MP Aghostino Neto beat competition from Onyango Tom Otieno (KANU) and Rumo Rosemary Atieno (TNA).
IEBC will be concerned about reports of political malpractices that marred the by-elections. Rigging and bribery were reported in different polling centres although the process was predominantly peaceful. Polling stations across the three constituencies reported low voter turnout.
