TNA sweeps Kajiado, Kangema as ODM retains Ndhiwa

Polling stations opened up at 6am and closed at 5pm
Preliminary results from Kajiado North by elections indicate that Moses Ole Sakuda of TNA is leading with 25,204 votes followed by ODM's Peter ole Mositet who has 13,371, while Anthony Keen of PNU has 1,641 votes.
In Ndhiwa, ODM's Augustino Neto is leading with 20,441 votes against his closest rival Kanu's Tom Alila who has 2191 votes.
From Kangema, TNA Tiras Ngahu has garnered 12,298, against his closest rival Clement Muturi of Saba Saba who has 2,863, while Kamau UDF has 2,644 votes.
Polling stations opened up at 6am and expected to close at 5pm.The exercise has been largely peaceful with no ugly incidents reported.
The Kangema seat had 10 candidates with the Kajiado North and Ndhiwa seats also attracting a six and three candidates respectively.
The Kangema by-election was a contest between the National Alliance (TNA) Tirus Ngahu, PNU Kimani Mugo, Simon Mwangi of United Democratic Party and John Gathogo of Mkenya Solidarity Party.
In Kajiado North, the contest was between TNA's Moses ole Sakuda, Peter ole Mositet of ODM and Anthony Keen of PNU has 1,606 votes.
Others in are Peter Munyu Munene-KNC, Paul Gichinga-Kanu, Andrew Nangurai-Restore and Build Kenya, Ruth Wanjiru Enkesen-Coservative party.
Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) deployed a total of 102 trained personnel in the station, which includes 34 Presiding Officers and Deputy Presiding Officers; 68 polling clerks.
In Ndhiwa, Augustino Neto of Orange Democratic Movement ODM, Kanu's Tom Alila and TNA's Rosemary Rumo battled to succeed the seat left behind by Orwa Ojodeh
The three parliamentary seats fell vacant after former Environment Minister John Michuki died in February due to heart complications followed by deaths of Internal Security Minister George Saitoti and his assistant Orwa Ojode in the Ngong forest helicopter crash last month.
