Please KIKUYUs, Don’t worship TRIBALISM and blame KENYATTA - RAILA

Monday September 3, 2012 - Prime Minister Raila Odinga has urged members of Kikuyu Community to shun tribalism and embrace nationalism when electing their leaders.

Speaking at Mikinduri market after attending a church service at St Masimo Catholic Church in Tigania East District, the PM said it was wrong for any leader to solicit for votes on grounds of tribalism, noting that such people have nothing to offer to Kenyans.

Raila said it was corruption of the highest order for the Kikuyu Community to vote for one of their own because the region did not have enough votes to propel one to State House.

“I urge Mt Kenya voters to shun tribalism and instead analyse all candidates before deciding on the best one to vote for,”Raila said.

He said such leaders should be avoided at all costs because they will retard development.
The Premier blamed the Kenyatta government for the woes affecting Kenyans saying poor leadership and tribalism are to blame for the country’s failure to achieve its independence dreams.

He said once he becomes president, he would fight corruption, create employment and enhance development.
