Monday September 3, 2012 -Industrialisation Minister Henry Kosgei received a rude shock last week after he failed to get a certificate of good conduct which he had applied for from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Nairobi.
Kosgei, who is also Tinderet MP and a close ally of Prime Minister Raila Odinga, was denied because according to police records, he is connected to serious crimes dating back to 1967.
It was only after a senior CID official intervened that the Minister was able to get the certificate, which is one of the documents an aspirant has to present to be considered eligible for nomination by his political party.
